Human Design: Key Components

Human Design is a fascinating system that combines elements of astrology, the I Ching, the chakra system, the Kabbalah, and Quantum physics to provide insights into an individual’s personality, behavior, and how they best make decisions and uncover your soul’s life path. Ra Uru Hu developed the system in the late 1980s. The key components of Human Design include:

1. Energy Type:

   • Human Design categorizes individuals into five main types: Generator, Manifesting Generator, Manifestor, Projector, and Reflector. Each type has its strategy for interacting with the world.

2. Strategy and Authority:

   • Each Human Design type has a specific strategy for making decisions and navigating life. Generators, for example, are advised to respond to life’s events rather than initiate action.
   • Authority in Human Design refers to the decision-making process that aligns with an individual’s unique design. Different types have different authorities, such as sacral authority for Generators and emotional authority for Manifestors.
   • Your Strategy and authority work together to help you make decisions aligned with your soul. 

3. Profile:

   The positions of the planets determine the profile in Human Design at the time of a person’s birth. It involves two numbers, 1/3 or 4/6, which provide insights into an individual’s personality and life path.

4. Nine Centers:

   • Human Design incorporates the concept of energy centers, which correspond to the chakras. The defined and undefined centers in a person’s chart influence how they process and exchange energy.

5. Gates and channels:

   • The I Ching is used in Human Design to define gates. These points in the chart are activated when you are born and represent different characteristics and attributes.
   • The I Ching is used in Human Design to define channels. Channel refers to an energy pathway created by activating two adjacent Gates connecting two centers.

6. Not-Self Theme:

   • This concept in Human Design refers to how individuals react when not living in alignment with their true design. Understanding one’s Not-Self Theme can offer insights into potential frustration or discomfort.

7. Incarnation Cross:

   • The Incarnation Cross is a key component of Human Design that represents an individual’s life purpose and direction. This is the theme or storyline of your life.  It is derived from the positions of the Sun and Earth at birth.
