Strategy and Authority in Human Design
Strategy refers to the recommended approach or methodology individuals are advised to follow to navigate their lives in alignment with their unique design to maximize and attract opportunities and synchronicities.
There are five primary Human Design types, and each type has its own strategy:
- Manifestors: The strategy for Manifestors is to inform. Manifestors are encouraged to inform others about their actions before initiating them. This helps to avoid resistance and ensure smoother interactions.
- Generators: The strategy for Generators is to respond. Instead of initiating, Generators are advised to wait for external stimuli or opportunities to respond. This allows them to engage in activities that align with their energy.
- Manifesting Generators: Manifesting Generators share the strategy of Generators, which is to respond. They should wait for opportunities to respond and then use their quick and efficient energy to manifest their goals.
- Projectors: The strategy for Projectors is to wait for invitations. Projectors are advised to wait for recognition and invitations from others before stepping into roles or activities. This ensures their energy is valued, recognized, appreciated, and utilized effectively.
- Reflectors: The strategy for Reflectors is to wait for a lunar cycle (about 28 days) before making significant decisions. Reflectors are encouraged to give themselves time and not rush into decisions, allowing the lunar cycle to bring clarity.
Following one’s strategy in Human Design is believed to lead to a more authentic and fulfilling life, allowing individuals to make decisions and engage in activities in a way that is energetically correct for their unique design. It’s important to note that Human Design is a complex system. While strategy is a key element, other factors such as authority, profile, and defined centers also contribute to a person’s overall Human Design chart and guidance.
Our intuition, called “Authority,” is our unique authentic truth and how we make decisions. In most cases, societal norms influence how we make decisions using our minds. However, Human Design shows that every individual has a unique approach to decision-making. By embracing this insight, we can appreciate the richness of our distinct processes. Understanding how to make decisions as ourselves helps us stay on the correct path in life.
Human Design identifies seven types of decision-making authority, with each type linked to a specific energy center in the body. By freeing the mind from decision-making, we can align ourselves with our innate way of making decisions. Here are the seven types of authority:
- Emotional Authority (Solar Plexus): 50% of the population has Emotional authority. For those with Emotional Authority, waiting for emotional clarity before deciding is important. Avoid making impulsive decisions based on intense emotions like excitement, nervousness, or sadness. Take time to stabilize your emotions and reach a state of clear thinking before committing to any course of action.
- Sacral Authority: Sacral Authority is linked to the Sacral Center and is particularly relevant to Generator and Manifesting Generator types. It involves relying on your gut response to external stimuli, expressed as “yes” or “no.” To make good decisions, you must wait and respond from your Sacral, paying attention to guttural sounds, sighs, grunts, feelings of energy, and unconscious movements.
- Splenic Authority: Individuals with Splenic Authority should trust their instinctive and intuitive response to situations. This response is associated with the Splenic Center and serves as a compass for decision-making. Even if doubts arise, relying on your intuition and survival instincts to guide you toward what is healthy is important. Remember that your intuition is spontaneous and in the present moment so that it won’t repeat itself. Trusting your initial internal feelings is key to making the right decisions.
- Heart(Ego Authority): (Manifesters) The Ego Authority from the Heart helps manifest desires. Make the right choices for yourself, and listen to your inner willpower. The Ego Authority from the Heart helps manifest desires. Use the throat center to communicate and gain clarity. Express yourself verbally to make decisions that align with your heart’s desires. (Projector) To ensure you make the correct decisions, you must go for what you feel you have the willpower for when invited. It will feel like a power flaring up inside you, ready for you to use it, and an internal need to be first and initiate the experience. Make the right choices for yourself, and listen to your inner willpower. Use the throat center to communicate and gain clarity. Express yourself verbally to make decisions that align with your heart’s desires.
- Identity Center(Self-Projected Authority): Self-Projected Authority is only available to the Projector type and is linked to the Identity Center. It is rare and only applies to 2.5% of the population. It helps them to make choices based on the clarity they experience in their voice while communicating with others. People with this authority typically feel in alignment when they express themselves verbally. To honor their inner truth, those with Self-Projected Authority should take the time to listen to themselves attentively and reflect.
- Environmental Authority (Mental Projectors): Make decisions by intuitively gauging the resonance of an environment and tuning into your body’s subtle responses. Utilizes others as a valuable sounding board to enhance clarity in their decision-making process.
- Moon/Lunar Cycle (Reflector): Lunar authority is associated with the Moon and involves waiting 28 days or a lunar cycle before making significant decisions. This authority is less common and only makes up approximately 1% of the population. Ensure you make the correct decisions; you must wait for a lunar cycle, about 28 days, to see how you feel and your different perspectives on the issue at hand as the Moon activates the other gates of your Design. You can also talk to someone you trust who doesn’t try to impose their opinion on you to observe what you say and how you say it.
